MUMBAI: Emmy award-winning series built around the life and times of the talented mummy of an Egyptian boy-king, Tutenstein is the latest to hit Indian television screens on 17 October on Toon Disney's daily action-adventure block Jetix.

The show combines the supernatural with adventure, comedy, mythology and history celebrating the universally popular theme of ancient Egypt. The show will air Monday to Friday at 5:30 pm and 8:30 pm.

Walt Disney Television International-India director programming and production Nachiket Pantvaidya says, "The Jetix brand is synonymous with high energy entertainment set in fantastic worlds where anything is possible. It truly allows kids to 'live the superhero life' through superb entertainment while adding an element of learning through exposure to Egyptian history and mythology. The launch of Tutenstein will further strengthen the programming line-up of Jetix by adding another dimension of exciting, quality content that is already quite popular with kids aged 4-9."

Tutenstein is an animated series revolving around a 10-year-old Egyptian-boy-mummy resurrected after 3000 years into a world he believes, should still worship him! He is struck by lightning and brought back to life in a modern-day museum in a large metropolitan city. A lot has changed in all the years that he has been mummified, but one thing that hasn't changed in all that time is the kid's attitude: he still thinks he's a pharaoh!

It's not long before he gets a really big reality check. However, that doesn't stop this high-powered kid from pursuing what he wants. Armed with self-confidence, Tutenstein concocts a series of comedic schemes and adventures to reclaim his rightful place as "ruler of all that is!" With help from his new friends Cleo and talking cat Luxor, he copes with everyday life in the 21st century whilst at the same time defeating his ancient underworld enemies.
