MTV Asia Aid awards declares 2005 winners

MUMABI: MTV Asia Awards 2005 winners were chosen through more than 16 million votes from viewers via the MTV website.

According to media reports, just because there was no proper awards doesn't mean you can't still win awards. The winners of the MTV Asia Awards 2005 were chosen through more than 16 million votes from viewers via the MTV website.

The fourth consecutive year, Siti Nurhaliza and Jay Chou from Malaysia, while Stefanie Sun from Singapore emerged as favourites in their country.

The other winners include 10 favourite music artistes from Asia identifying Sun Yue from China, Joey Yung from HongKong,  Strings from India, Peterpan from Indonesia, Rain from South Korea, Siti Nurhaliza from Malaysia, Rivermaya from Philippines, Stefanie Sun from Singapore, Jay Chou from Taiwan and Silly Fools from Thailand.

On the international front, the favourities are:

MTV Asia Awards which was held at Bangkok has been renamed MTV Asia Aid to help raise funds for the tsunami-hit region, featuring live performances.
