MUMBAI: A few days ago, Viacom-owned broadcaster CBS kicked off the fifth season of its reality show The Amazing Race , which airs in India on AXN.

The series shows teams racing around the world for a $1 million prize. There are 11 teams, each comprising two people who have a pre-existing relationship with each other. A pair of twins will make up one team. Their journey around the world lasts about 30 days. At every destination, each couple will have to compete in a series of challenges - some mental and some physical.

In fact, in an earlier edition of the show, the teams had passed through India.

Only after they complete allocated tasks, will the team know their next destination. Couples who are farthest behind will gradually be eliminated as the contest progresses. The first team to arrive at the final destination wins $1 million.
