MUMBAI: BBC hopes to counter the general perception that, community-wise, they cover Indians too much with a documentary series on the British Pakistanis. The TV series will be ready to go on air next year.

The series tentatively titled Pakistani Nights will try to present a complete picture of the British Pakistani community.

Produced by the BBC's Asian Programmes Unit (APU), the series will consists of five films, each approximately of 40 minutes. The series will focus on the people and Pakistani culture instead of covering Islam or theological issues.
APU boasts of a collection of award winning and critically acclaimed documentaries, including Nuclear Paradise, Islamaphobia and Joy of Curry.

APU is currently looking for filmmaking professionals to get associated with the production of the series. The posts advertised include: series producer, producer / directors, assistant producers and researchers. Applications should reach APU by 14 June.
