MUMBAI: The sixth edition of the South Asian Film Festival (SAFF) will pay tribute to Shammi Kapoor and Bangladeshi filmmaker Tareque Masud, the former for his contribution to Indian cinema and the latter who was one of the two prime witnesses of the International War Crime Tribunal.

Organised by the South Asia Foundation (SAF), the theme of the four-day long festival is ‘Dissolving Boundaries‘ that spreads the message of togetherness and oneness amongst the countries in the subcontinent including Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

As a special gesture to Shammi Kapoor, his film Kashmir Ki Kali would be screened in the presence of Sharmila Tagore.

Besides, more than 50 films from the eight participating South Asian countries will be screened during the festival.

The SAFF is scheduled to begin in Goa from 15 September.
