Big Pictures to release Marathi film Samaantar on 4 September

MUMBAI: Big Pictures, the film production arm of Reliance ADAG, is set to release Amol Palekar directed Marathi movie Samaantar on 4 September.

The company is planning to release the movie in 25 theatres across Maharashtra, including Mumbai, Pune, Nasik and Kolhapur. Samaantar will also see simultaneous release in two screens in Delhi and one at Nandan, Kolkata (with English subtitles).

While Sharmila Tagore is acting for the first time in a Marathi movie, Palekar is himself making a comeback on-screen after almost two decades. The film also stars Makarand Deshpande, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Kishor Kadam, Aishwarya Narkar and Radhika Apte.

Big Pictures COO Mahesh Ramanathan had earlier told Indiantelevision.com that it would be spending Rs 15 million on promoting the film.

Samaantar reveals lost traces of two persons‘ impeccable love for each other. While Sharmila Tagore plays a potter, Palekar essays the character of an industrialist who is a loner.
