MUMBAI: Starcom MediaVest Group today announced the promotion of two senior managers to the level of general manager.

Effective immediately, Mahesh Ranka will oversee Relay Worldwide, the sports practice of Starcom MediaVest Group. He will take charge from Chetan Madaya, who is moving outside the group, after a year at the helm, to pursue his interests elsewhere.
 
Simultaneously, Pranay Anthwal, who looks after Starcom Entertainment, which specializes in entertainment and embedded marketing and Starcom IP, the digital and wireless marketing unit, has been elevated from his current designation as media director to general manager.

Both positions will continue to report to Starcom South Asia CEO Ravi Kiran.
 
Says Kiran, "It's never easy to lose people and we are sad about Chetan's departure. He has shaped the Relay vision in India during the last year and has contributed immensely to the business, working with Mahesh and myself. Without doubt, we will miss him. However, I am happy to say that Mahesh is placed perfectly to take over from here and make our sports offering to clients even stronger."
