MSN India appoints ex-Star executive Satya Raghavan to head consumer marketing

MUMBAI: MSN India has announced the appointment of ex-Star India executive Satya Raghavan as head - consumer marketing. Raghavan will report to, MSN India & Windows Live country head Jaspreet Bindra.

In this newly created role, Satya Raghavan will be responsible for the marketing and PR of the brand portfolio of products like MSN India and Windows Live, states an official release.

Bindra said, "Satya's main focus is to market our brands to the burgeoning internet consumer base in India. We have reached a tipping point in India as far as Internet usage is concerned and it is vital to get our brands to resonate with them."

Satya brings to the table experience in marketing and sales across FMCG, media and IT industries. His most recent stint was with Star India where he was VP marketing for the portfolio of six Star televisions channels. Prior to that, Satya has been brand manager for Pillsbury. His sales experience was with Coca-Cola.
"Brands like Hotmail, and Windows Live Messenger are the preferred brands of the evolving Indian internet user. It's a great time to be working with brands like these - full of challenges and opportunities", added Satya.
