CVL Srinivas elevated to Maxus head for Asia-Pacific

MUMBAI: When it comes to positions of prominence, "Indian curry" is increasingly the flavour of choice within the GroupM family in the Asia-Pacific. Maxus India managing director CVL Srinivas has just been given overall responsibility for the agency's operations across the Asia-Pacific.

Srinivas, whose elevation into his new role reportedly happened Wednesday, takes over a position previously handled by Alice Lam, head of Maxus Hong Kong.
Queried by indiantelevision.com over whether his new responsibilities would entail his moving out of India, Srinivas, speaking to indiantelevision from Bangkok, clarified that he would continue to based out of New Delhi. "My mandate is to ramp up Maxus across the rest of the region to the position that it currently enjoys in India, Hong Kong and to an extent China - among the Top 3. In the other regional offices we occupy the fourth or fifth rung on an average and the effort will clearly be to improve on that."

It needs noting that Srinivas will continue to report to CEO Group M South Asia Ashutosh Srivastava. A similar reporting structure will apply to the heads of Maxus operations in other regional offices as well, where they will be reporting in to their respective GroupM heads.

Srinivas joined Maxus India as MD in early 2004 from Madison Media where he was COO, North & South.
