AAAI holds contest to zero in on team for Cannes

MUMBAI: There's good news for young creative ad professionals. The Advertising Agencies' Association of India (AAAI) is organising the AAAI Young Creatives Contest to zero in on the trio who will represent the country at the International Young Creatives Contest, to be held at the Cannes Advertising Festival in France this year.

This year, the AAAI Contest is based on the theme of child labour and requires the participants to create a print advertisement and a web banner on this theme. The last date for receiving entries is 28 April 2003. The winning team would be the official Indian team to participate at the International Young Creatives Contest, states an official release.

In the International Contest however, each team representing a country will be pitted against similar teams from across the world. All the teams will be given a subject (a social or a public cause) and asked to create a campaign in two days.

The Times of India Group, the official festival representative (India) of the Cannes Festival, will sponsor the official Indian team of young creatives at Cannes, the release informs. This is the third consecutive year that AAAI will play the lead role in promoting young creative talent though this contest, the release adds.
