• Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific wins five IPA Effectiveness Awards

    New Delhi: Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific has wonfive IPA Effectiveness Awards in 2012 for work from India, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan. O&M is the only agency in Asia to win any awards in this global competition and the colour of the metal will be revealed at the awards ceremony on 29 October at the Hilton Park Lane, London.

    ?Winning five awards for our Asia Pacific work is an unprecedented achievement as the IPAs are recognised as the most rigorous awards globally,? said Paul Heath, Chairman, Ogilvy & Mather Asia Pacific. ?It builds on our history of being the first agency from Asia to win an IPA Award in 2008 for Motorola. My congratulations to the client and agency teams for producing great work that works.?

    The accolades go to a range of work including growing chocolate consumption for Cadbury Dairy Milk from Mumbai, India; quadrupling market share in China for Dove; turning anti-smoking into pro-quitting for the Singapore Health Promotion Board; developing the Shangri-La ? it?s in our nature approach that dramatically increased room nights; and making Ta Chong Bank famous which drove increased sales and profitability.

  • CNN Business Traveller: Olympic Special

    MUMBAI: Are athletes the ultimate Road Warriors? This month, ?CNN Business Traveller? was in London, a city in the throes of the Olympics, playing host to athletes and spectators from all over the world.

    As London prepared to receive the world?s athletes and their supporters, the programme heard from staff at Heathrow airport, London?s mayor Boris Johnson, the fans, and from the athletes themselves. The programme also learnt how the city?s hotels braced themselves for their guests, Eurostar tore chairs out of its carriages to make way for Paralympians and their wheelchairs, and London taxi drivers installed beds in their vehicles in efforts to offer a room for the night.

    Meanwhile, host Richard Quest seeks guidance from the experts on how to stay in shape on the road, sampling the ?best of British? with a daring foray into British Military Fitness sessions, and showcasing a specially devised ten-minute morning hotel room routine ? useful for those trips where the time and inclination to get to the gym escape us. Finally, the man considered the world?s most travelled athlete, Gary Player, shares a thing or two with Ayesha Durgahee about his own tips for life as a road warrior.

  • CNN to broadcast 'piers morgan tonight'

    MUMBAI: CNN?s Piers Morgan will be live on location broadcasting from London for the 2012 Olympic Summer Games, airing globally on CNN International and in the United States on CNN/U.S. CNN?s primary live location in London is a panoramic view of Olympic Park and Olympic Stadium. With a reach of more than 200 countries, CNN International will expand its Olympic Summer Games coverage with ?World Sport?, which airs live several times a day. Former Olympic Gold Medalist Linford Christie will contribute to CNN?s coverage of the Olympic Summer Games.

    Online, CNN Digital will live blog the Games, post results and medals in real-time, and feature original content all on www.cnn.com/olympics. Coverage will also include daily photo galleries, an interactive showing the evolution of the Olympic athlete since 1896 and a special franchise called ?Human to Hero?, which profiles Olympic athletes. CNN iReport, the network?s global participatory news community, is launching two projects for the Games. The first is an Open Story, which places photos and videos from iReporters and CNN journalists into an interactive map and timeline. iReport is also taking submissions for the Sports Photography Master Class, where users can share their best sports photography, and the most compelling images will be featured in a photo gallery on CNN.com. Online content will also be available via CNN?s mobile platforms, including CNN?s mobile website and on CNN apps for iPhone, iPad and Android phone.

    MUMBAI: Reliance Home Video & Games has released the Blu-ray and home video of Guy Ritchie?s action-packed mystery Sherlock Holmes:A Game of Shadow.

    Around the globe, headlines break the news: a scandal takes down an Indian cotton tycoon; a Chinese opium trader dies of an apparent overdose; bombings in Strasbourg and Vienna; the death of an American steel magnate... no one sees the connective thread between these seemingly random events-no one, that is, except the great Sherlock Holmes, who has discerned a deliberate web of death and destruction. At its center sits a singularly sinister spider: Moriarty.

    Holmes? investigation into Moriarty?s plot becomes more dangerous as it leads him and Watson out of London to France, Germany and finally Switzerland. But the cunning Moriarty is always one step ahead, and moving perilously close to completing his ominous plan. If he succeeds, it will not only bring him immense wealth and power but alter the course of history.

    The film stars two-time Academy Award nominees Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law along with Rachel McAdams, Kelly Reilly, Eddie Marsan, Geraldine James, Jared Harris, Stephen Fry and Noomi Rapace.
    Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows is available on Blu-ray (Rs.1299), DVD (Rs.599) and VCD (English - Rs.299 and Hindi - Rs.115).

    MUMBAI: The Bold and the Beautiful is an American television soap opera created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell.

    Set in Los Angeles, California, the show centers upon the Forrester family and their fashion house business Forrester Creations. The program features an ensemble cast, headed by its longest-serving actors Susan Flannery as Stephanie Forrester, John McCook as Eric Forrester, Katherine Kelly Lang as Brooke Logan, Ronn Moss as Ridge Forrester also known as the core four. The Bold and the Beautiful is also a sister show to the Bells? other soap opera The Young and the Restless, as several characters from each of the two shows have crossed over to the other since the early 1990s, and its title derived from Y&R.

    Since its premiere on March 23, 1987, the show has become the most-watched soap in the world, with an audience of an estimated 26.2 million viewers. As of 2010, it continues to hold on to the second-placed position in weekly Nielsen Ratings for daytime dramas. The Bold and the Beautiful has also won 31 Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Drama Series in 2009 and again in 2010, as well as in 2011.

    On September 7, 2011, the series switched to high definition, making it the second-to-last American soap to make the switch, at the time.

    It is the youngest soap opera to be airing in America. The two main families the Forrester and the Logans have been rivals for years similar to the Bradys,DiMeras and Kiriakis?s on NBC?s Days of our Lives and the Newman?s and the Abbott?s on Y&R.
