    MUMBAI: LinOpinion, the public relations division of Lowe Lintas has been appointed by Nolte Home Studio, the German furniture giant, as its communications and public relations partner in India. The account will be led out of Bangalore and the agency has been assigned the task of building Nolte?s media profile in the country - focusing on raising awareness of the company?s offerings especially in the Modular Kitchen segment.

  • Filmfare and Idea Cellular announce nominees of 2011 for 59th Idea Filmfare Awards

    NEW DELHI: The Nominations for the 59th Idea Filmfare Awards (South) were announced at a press meet in Chennai yesterday evening.

    The award ceremony will be held at Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu, (Nehru Indoor Stadium), Chennai on 7 July.

    Actor Amla Paul along with Filmfare Editor Jitesh Pillaai and Idea Cellular Chief Marketing officer Sashi Shankar addressed the press meet.

    Pillaai said, ?I?ve grown up on South films. I hold all the South stars, composers, directors and technicians in great esteem. It gives me great pleasure to come down South year-after-year to celebrate excellence in cinema. The South industry has accepted me as a part of their extended family and I?m looking forward to coming to Chennai on July 7th and participating in yet another gala event.?

    On this association for the 5th year in a row, Shankar said, ??As in the past we hope that the event is grand with scintillating performances.     The Filmfare Awards (South) were first held at the prestigious Kalaivanar Arangam in Chennai. Eventually it shifted to the distinctive Music Academy. Initially, only Tamil and Telugu films were considered for the awards and later, Malayalam and Kannada films became part of the event in 1966 & 1969 respectively. The spirit of the awards lies in its popularity not just amongst the masses but also the film fraternity. It is the ultimate recognition of talent.

    This year too, South Indian audiences were invited to vote for their favourites across 10 categories each, in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam films. Nominees have been selected through the public voting process that Filmfare is known for. Specially appointed juries have been set up to further wet the nominees and select the final winners.

  • Zee Caf? leads around 1300 patrons to take a Green Turn!

    Mumbai: Zee Caf??s ecological initiative Green Turn has turned out to be a huge success. The Green turn initiative touched upon people from various walks of life.

    Many movie buffs had a different experience on June 5th. Apart from the conventional dose of entertainment from the movie, they felt a sense of contentment by contributing their bit to Mother Earth. More than 550 saplings were distributed at various Cinemax multiplexes across Mumbai, Delhi and Pune. Cinemax multiplexes had Zee Caf??s Green Turn stalls on June 5th, where patrons adopted a sapling and took The Green Oath to protect and nurture the same.

    Green Turn initiatives also went out to spread awareness amongst Mocha Coffee customers across their Mumbai, Delhi and Pune outlets. Around 350 customers went home happy having taken The Green Oath.

    Nonetheless, various celebrities also contributed actively in supporting the cause. Well known Bollywood actor, Aditya Pancholi took The Green Oath, adopted the sapling and lauded the initiative taken by Zee Cafe. Veteran actors Farida Jalal and Akhilendra Mishra appreciated the noble cause taken up by Zee Caf?. The Green Turn initiative reached out to people of various age groups and was able to create awareness about the alarming rate of deforestation and the need to preserve our environment.

    In a bid to cut down its carbon footprint, Hard Rock Caf? had partnered with Zee Caf? and hosted a Green Turn Unplugged night on 7th June across the cities of Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. In keeping with the promise of making the world a greener place, the Green Turn Unplugged initiative saw Hard Rock Caf? playing host to bands Dischordian (Mumbai), Suahil & Adi (Delhi) and Pushing Tin (Bengaluru) who gave only live acoustic performances for the night. The pepped up crowd of Hard Rock Caf? expressed sensitivity towards ecology and showed keen interest in making greener Earth. More than 500 patrons across Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru volunteered for the cause.

    Zee Caf? had also tied up with GreenNGood.com?s Plant A Tree drive. Hard Rock Caf??s Mumbai and Delhi outlets had GreenNGood.com stalls; wherein patrons donated 60 and adopted a sapling, facilitating the plantation of a tree in Southern Rajasthan, one of India?s worst deforested zones. As a part of this initiative, each patron received a certificate stating his commitment to having taken a Green Turn and would receive periodic updates of the project?s growth.

    The Zee Caf? initiative Green Turn was able to touch upon more than 1300 people, and make them realize that the world has reached a stage where the natural disasters that have been occurring are not ?natural? anymore. Human beings and our creations are the cause of these disasters. It?s time to stop, think, act and take a stand.

    PLOT

    SPIDERMAN (6.30 PM ON PIX):
    Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) is an ordinary guy who lives with his beloved aunt and uncle and quietly pines for the girl next door, Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). But when a genetically engineered "super-spider" bites him while on a school trip, Peter develops unusual skills - fantastic acrobatic strength, supernatural awareness and a talent for web spinning. It?s not until tragedy strikes at home that Peter decides to use his new powers to fight crime under a secret identity - Spiderman! When the evil Green Goblin attacks the good people of New York and

    After his previous adventures, Peter Parker (Toby Maguire) hopes to marry his girlfriend Mary Jane (Kirsten Dunst). But Peter is told by the police that the original killer of his uncle is still on the loose and his trail has been lost. The killer, Flint Marko, runs into a nuclear weapon testing facility and his atoms are fused with sand. After that he becomes the evil Sandman. But that?s not all, as Harry Osbourne (James Franco) wants his revenge and become the second Green Goblin! Also, an alien life force fuses to Spiderman and starts to poison him / kill him / make him go crazy and spidey finally rips the suit of. But Peter?s rival photographer, Eddie Brock Jr. takes the suit and becomes the powerful yet lethal venom. Will Spiderman defeat all of these enemies?
