Mumbai: With another weekend upon us, it is time to unwind with the latest Q&A edition of Indiantelevision.com’s Weekend Unwind—a series of informal chats that peek into the minds of business executives through a fun lens in an attempt to get to know the person behind the title a little better.

In this week’s session, we have My Haul Store founder & CEO Abhishek Vyas.

Vyas is the founder of My Haul Store, a unique platform for diversified brands looking to collaborate with relevant influencers. My Haul Store provides a steady platform for influencers to showcase their content, get training and support to create and edit videos, source marketing projects from brands, and earn a steady stream of revenue. Vyas shaped the vision of the brand with a tremendous growth of over 50+ brands and over 20K influencers within the span of just two years.

The company is situated in Bangalore and is one of the fastest-growing influencer marketing agencies, having reached a whopping 30 crore in turnover in a short span. Vyas is an entrepreneur at heart and has three ventures under his wings. Under his leadership, he has not only efficiently scaled his business idea but also believes in giving it back to society.

So, without further ado, here it goes…

  •     Your mantra for life

Be a competitor, but don't follow the competition like a rat racing to the finish line. Understand your current situation and align your goals accordingly. If you are just following the rat race, you won't be able to nourish your potential, and consequently, it will lead to your downfall.

  •     A book you are currently reading/plan to read

Not a keen reader because I think a person should have their own thought process, and people honestly do not know how to read a book. A person should grasp the knowledge through it, aligning a mindset to develop innovative thoughts.

Apart from the gyaan, I am currently reading "Millennial Mindset."

  •     Your fitness mantra, especially during the pandemic

Whether there is a pandemic or you are on vacation, as an entrepreneur you are working, but at the same time, health matters because your body and mind both should be up and running to manage a business, for which it is more convenient and useful for me to practise yoga and meditation.

  •     Your comfort food

South Indian poha is my favourite.

When the chips are down, is there a quote/philosophy that keeps you going?

My only driving force in life is that I don’t want to hold onto the current situation of my life. If life is throwing me the odds, no matter what, I will stand still and move towards the odds to determine for myself, 'Aapne Suna hoga ki life keeps on moving' so if you can’t run, walk, and if you can’t walk, at least crawl.

  •     Your guilty pleasure?

I would say logging off work at 7 p.m. with my team is my guilty pleasure! I usually continue my work until 1 a.m. or later, so closing my work on time and just relaxing is a definite guilty pleasure.

  •     When was the last time you tried something new?

Every day is different for me; every day, my team and I work on something new, some strategy to close a deal or a client, or even start-up ventures that will last in the long run. To be honest, I am just an explorer at heart.

  •     A life lesson you learned the hard way?

I was a hard-working person from the beginning of my life, but I had some failures along the way, and I began to believe that luck was not on my side. But today, when I own My Haul Store, I believe it’s because of luck and hard work.

  •     What gets you excited about life?

No matter how you are or how your situation is, life goes on, and that is where my sciatic pain comes in to make it even harder, so wake up and makeup!

  •     What’s on top of your bucket list?

I am a seeker of spirituality, and somewhere I have read that the Jyotirlingas are the prime source of radiating positivity to attain the energy that everyone seeks. As a believer and a doer, I have to start witnessing them one by one.

  •     If you could give one piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Angry yet curious guy to calm down, take a deep breath, and prioritise his goals. To summarise, meditate.

  •     One thing you would most like to change about the world

Competition is good, but it should be healthy. Moreover, I would call it a collaboration. Instead of a competitive mindset, I’ll suggest a collaborative mindset where everyone gets a fair and square chance.

  •     An activity that keeps you motivated/charged during tough times

I combat the feelings of fear and despair that come over me by focusing on the blessings in my life. I make a mental list of such things and pause whenever I need to think about one or more of them till I feel calmer.
