MUMBAI: US cable network AMC and filmmaker Ridley Scott?s Scott Free Productions have announced a two-year, first look deal to develop and produce scripted cable projects for the network.

The deal marks the first time Scott Free Productions has entered into a first-look pact with a cable network to produce TV projects. The announcement was made by AMC?s EVP of original programming production and digital content Joel Stillerman and Scott Free Television president David Zucker.

The first projects in development are ?Untitled Cahill/Nicotero/Scott Free Project? from executive producer and writer Jason Cahill and prosthetic makeup artist Greg Nicotero, ?Raiders? from executive producer and writer Evan Wright and ?The Terror? from writer and co-executive producer David Kajganich.

Stillerman said, "We are excited for the opportunity to work with Scott Free as we continue to develop and produce scripted dramas that defy expectations with truly original stories and characters. Scott Free boasts such an impressive list of credits in both film and television and we look forward to collaborating with a company that shares this same vision for and commitment to great material."

Zucker said, "We have tremendous admiration for AMC?s success in pushing the boundaries of television and storytelling. We greatly appreciate the shared ambition for original ideas, terrific material and top-drawer talent, and are eager for the chance to produce compelling entertainment that we hope the audiences will embrace".

?Untitled Cahill/Nicotero/Scott Free Project? is a one-hour futuristic, dystopian, sci-fi saga. ?Raiders? is a one-hour WWII drama about a rogue US Navy commander who leads an unconventional warfare unit into the heart of Africa on a mission that will bend the arc of history.

In February of this year, AMC and Scott Free Productions had announced the project in development ?The Terror?. The project is based on the novel by Dan Simmons. Set in 1847, the book is about the crew of a Royal Naval expedition to find the Arctic?s treacherous Northwest Passage who discovers instead a monstrous predator - a cunning and vicious Gothic horror that stalks the ship in a desperate game of survival, the consequence of which could endanger the region and its native people forever.
