Spider-Man
and the Tribeca Film Festival feature in this week's Talking
Movies, the film review and magazine show on BBC World.
Tobey
Maguire is the nerdy student-turned-web-swinging superhero
in Spider-Man. Directed by Sam Raimi, the film also
stars Willem Dafoe as the villain (Green Goblin) and Kirsten
Dunst as Spider-man's object of desire.
Host Tom Brook will also report on the first annual Tribeca
Film Festival- created by Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal.
World premieres during the five day affair include Sandra
Bullock, Ashley Judd and Christopher Nolan's new thriller
Insomnia.This new showcase created to benefit Manhattan's
downtown neighbourhood will also include documentary works
and films to commemorate the tragic events of 11 September.
The Importance Of Being Earnest, the latest Oscar
Wilde play to be adapted for the silver screen by filmmaker
Oliver Parker will also be discussed by Brook on the show.
