MTV is readying itself for the telecast of the 2002 MTV
Movie Awards.
The winners who were revealed at the taping of the awards
included The Lord of the Rings for best movie, Will
Smith from Ali for the best male performance. Nicole
Kidman for Moulin Rouge bagged the best female performance.
Vin Diesel and Paul Walker won the best on-screen team for
the movie The Fast and the Furious with the best
comedic performance bagged by Reese Witherspoon from Legally
Blonde.
Denzel Washington with his performance in Training Day
won the award for the best villain.
Apart from these, the show included the song and dance team
of Black and Gellar who opened the night with their musical
extravaganza. The audience were kept rolling in their seats
with some comical performances from Martin Lawrence. The
night continued with The White Stripes performing
Fell In Love With a Girl and Dead Leaves and The
Dirty Ground as over 200 fans dressed in red and white
took over the stage.
Following the song and dance show was proud father Ozzy
Osbourne, introducing the debut performance of his daughter
Kelly Osbourne. Following the footsteps of her rock-n-roll
papa, Kelly gave an impressive first performance of her
cover of Madonna's classic, Papa Don't Preach.
The awards will be aired on MTV India on 22 June, Saturday
at 7:00 pm.
