Premiering
on action channel AXN on Sunday, 5 May, is a new 'Eco-Challenge'
series.
'Eco-Challenge',
the "world's toughest adventure race" was held in New Zealand's
South Island last year from 21 October to 2 November.
The first episode airs on Sunday at 8 pm. Subsequent episodes
of the show air from Monday, 6 May, through to Friday, 10
May, daily at 8 pm.
The challenge in Kiwi territory covered 400 kilometers and
saw 68 teams representing 23 countries compete for the top
prize of $100,000. Asia sent six teams for the event.
Teams interacted with and battled nature in a variety of
complex disciplines including horseback riding, river rafting,
mountaineering and mountain biking. The race tests the navigational
skills of participants. Disorientation is not uncommon during
proceedings. Lack of sleep, sickness, mental exhaustion,
hypothermia will test the endurance of the participants
to the limit.
Previous editions of the event have taken place in Argentina,
Malaysia, Morocco, America, Canada and Australia.
