Hungama
TV created a subscription based mobile gaming zone
called 'Hungaming' a couple of months ago. "There
would be a preview zone for Hungaming on the site
and people can even purchase the subscription online
through an online-mobile integration," informs
Mehta.
The
site also serves as a preview section of Hungaming.
"Hungaming subscribers get unlimited mobile games
on their phones by paying a nominal monthly fee. People
interested in susbcribing to the zone can check out
the full list of online games as well as the latest
updates on Hungamatv.com," she adds.
Apart
from that, the channel is also looking at developing
online games for its driver shows like Hero
and Sanya.
Hungama
TV's website will also carry weekly polls aimed at
capturing the choices of kids and the results would
be telecast on TV as a special Kids ka Choice
segment. "In due course, 'kids ka point of view'
would be a full blown section with more and more interesting
content like movie and TV show reviews sent in by
Hungama TV captains and other kids," elaborates
Mehta.
Cartoon
Network has a Game Zone, wherein kids can play an
array of games featuring the channel's cartoon characters.
Speaking
on the kind of games that kids can play on the Nick
website, Nickelodeon Asia vice president marketing
and communications Elaine Tan says, "Our games
page - www.nicksplat.com/Game - is very popular where
kids can play a host of games like Jimmy Neutron and
the Big Freeze or join SpongeBob SquarePants in the
Anchovy Feeding Frenzy. Kids love this page and we
constantly add new games every two months."
Disney
too has captivating games on the website. Shah explains,
"We have highly stimulating games on the website.
The Focus is on the games which are stemming from
our on-air priority shows. We also made an Aladdin
game for India since Aladdin is highly popular with
kids here."
On
the other hand, Toon Disney's microsite seeks to create
an experiential environment for viewers where they
can interact with the shows that they watch on air.
"Apart from a wide array of games, we also have
innovative applications and features that truly leverage
the medium. Applications like the "Mein Bhi Superhero"
feature, which lets viewers design their own Superhero
and the "Secret Agent" Test, are great examples
of the same. Our "Dare Your Gang" feature,
which is on each game, encourages community building
by letting kids challenge their friends to beat their
score," Shah adds.
Nick's
website has the 'U-Pick Live' microsite where kids
can pick their favourite shows on TV on a real-time
basis. "They can also send messages real-time
and watch their messages appear on the TV screen.
To protect kids, we monitor all messages rigorously
to sieve out any abuse," informs Tan.
Additionally,
kids can give feedback to the channel via the feedback
page, where they can opine on what they like or don't
like about the channel, programmes, website and events.
They can also sign up as members of nicksplat.com
get their own blog where they can write about what's
on their minds, display their creative skills and
make friends.
