Perspective on the news scenario

Fundamentally, in a 24-hour news scenario there are two basic things news channels bank on. One is to aggressively get into breaking news mode and the other is news analysis. Sometimes breaking news can become too repetitive during the course of the day. That's where the softer programmes come to our rescue and is almost like a cycle and a two way process.
Channel Offerings

We saw a huge potential in the health & fitness segment. People are hungry for information and we decided to do Sabsefit.

Sabsefit - Initially many felt that a programme like this does not fit into a news channel. But then we saw a huge potential in the desire of people to feel good, look good and look after their health. There are various elements of the how, apart from offerings, tips and expert analysis, the show also has Bharat Thakur demonstrating asanas for the lay public, along with celebrity workouts.

Sabsefit has been able to increase the audience base for us, be it male, female or youngsters. A highly informative and entertaining show, it has definitely emerged as a flagship show for the channel.

Dharma

A weekly feature based half-hour programme that focuses on issues of spirituality and faith along with the different aspects associated with it. The programme tries to bring in the various religions forward in a positive light.

The whole idea behind the concept of Dharma is to let the viewer feel the spirituality behind the stories. The stories are anchored by a voice (faceless anchor) that travels through the space talking about the various philosophies of religion and the spirituality associated with it. The programme has segments like Parva, Teertha, Yatra, Khoj, Gyan and Saaptahiki that contain stories accordingly.

Hatyara Kaun

Based on a classic 'whodunit?' format, Hatyara Kaun explores a murder mystery every week. The programme is aired on Sunday 8.30 pm with a repeat telecast on Monday 12.30 am.

The programme presents the facts of the unsolved case to the viewers. It explores all the possibilities and angles involved in the murder. It takes an independent and neutral stand while pointing out loopholes and the evidence in the case.
