MUMBAI:
This weekend will witness the entry of two talented singers as challengers
in Clinic All Clear Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar. Rex Dsouza
and Amey Date are the new Challengers who will give
a tough time to all other contestants. Both of them are strong contenders
and are sure to give the other contestants a run for their money.
Rex
D'Souza (born 1981) was one of the three finalists of Fame Gurukul
in 2005. On Fame Gurukul, Rex was characterized as having a good
charisma, singing and confidence. Rex D'souza won the support of
many fans due to his personality and talent, which earned him the
title of Mr. Gurukul. Through the 4 months spent on Gurukul, Rex
received enough criticism to have him voted off the show but because
of the support he received from his numerous fans he acquired enough
votes to earn a spot back.
Hailing
from a typical Maharashtrian middle class family, Amey Date (born
1979) stood fourth in Indian Idol 2. Amey is a huge fan of singers
like Mohd. Rafi, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and Suresh Wadkar.
Kishore Kumar is his idol. Beisdes singing, Amey loves to have seafood
and is an ardent viewer of non-fiction channels. Amey is also a
professional stage performer and for the past seven years, he has
performed on stage with notable singers such as OP Nayyar, Usha
Mangeshkar and Suresh Wadkar. Amey teaches music to students at
his guruji's academy, the Ajivasan Gurukul at Santa Cruz.
Amey
& Rex are back on stage facing yet another challenge to prove
their singing potentials.
