MUMBAI:
The verdict is out… India has voted JASPINDER NARULA as the
Captain of the Dhoom Team! Jaspinder overcame stiff competition
from the other 10 singing superstars to walk away with the title
and the love and adoration of the nation. Rani Mukherji presented
the title to the winner of Idea Dhoom Macha De at the finale ceremony
which was telecast LIVE on NDTV Imagine, this evening.
 The
exciting Grand Finale saw the final duel between Richa Sharma, Devang
Patel and Jaspinder Narula. In this special 'Live' episode, viewers
from across the country voted for their favourite singing superstar
and crowned Jaspinder as the 'Captain of the Dhoom Team'. She left
the entire nation spellbound with her matchless performance and
garnered the maximum number of viewers' votes to win this coveted
title.
Jaspinder
expressed her heartfelt gratitude to India for selecting her as
'India's Best LIVE Performer!' She amazed the audiences and the
judges with her fantastic presentation week after week. With her
consistent performances, she was undoubtedly the most favorite singing
superstar with the viewers and judges throughout the competition!
An
overwhelmed Jaspinder Narula said, "I am delighted to win the
title of "India's Best Live Performer". Winning and losing
is a part of life, but then the happiness of victory counts the
most! I would like to thank God, all my friends and family who have
supported me in this competition! I would also like to thank everyone
at NDTV Imagine and all my co-participants who have been very helpful
and encouraging .We have become one large family in the course of
these 16 weeks. From start to finish, Dhoom Macha De has been an
unforgettable experience."
The
finale episode also saw one final performance by each of the eight
eliminated contestants, Anaida, Baba Sehgal, Babul Supriyo, Jassi,
Kamaal Khan, Sapna Awasthi, Suneeta Rao and Taz. Host Malaika Arora
Khan performed on Zara Zara Touch Me Touch Me, Hoth Raseeley, Chaliya
Chaliya and Mindblowing Mahiya, leaving the viewers and studio audience
spellbound and hooting for more. Raju Shrivastav's wise cracks and
excellent sense of humour had everyone in splits! The judges Sharmila
Tagore, Shankar Mahadevan and Prasoon Joshi sat back and enjoyed
some great performances!
