MUMBAI:
In its constant endeavor to provide differentiated programming content
to the viewers, Star Plus yet again brings a refreshing change from
the routine in form of Rang De India- A republic Day special
on 26 January, 1 pm. At Rang De India, Star Plus brings together
Voice of India, Indian Idol and Sa Re Ga Ma contestants
to pay a musical tribute to the national heroes and martyrs who
sacrificed their lives to bring us freedom.This is the first attempt
of its kind in the history of Indian Television when contestants
from competition GEC will be seen together celebrating the spirit
of freedom, harmony and togetherness and shaking a leg on one platform
to celebrate our achievement as a nation.
These
kids became popular icons for viewers over the years and while India
spent a lot of time voting to retain their favourites, their favourites
now choose to give back the love and affection by coming together
on this show as a tribute to India.
"Rang
De India will not only be visual and a musical treat for the
music lovers across the country but also the largest pot pourri
of talented and popular youngsters from various talent hunt shows
across Indian television spreading the message of unity and harmony
to all the Indians viewing the show", says Anupama Mandloi,
Senior Creative Director, Star Plus stating the thought behind Rang
De India.
The
show brings together the likes of Voice of India winner Ishmeet
Singh Sodhi, the runner up Harshit Saxena and Ashprit, Sumitra Iyer,
Irfan Khan from the clan; Sa Re Ga Ma Stars Vineet Singh,
Rajeev, Hemachandra and Indian Idol stars Rahul Vaidya, Prajakta
Shukre and Karunya.
It
will be an interesting sight to watch Sa Re Ga Ma Pa's Rajeev adjusting
his chord to Indian Idol's Prajakta Shukre as they come together
to perform Rang De Basanti. At the same time, it will be
fun to see Voice of India and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa's first
runners-up Harshit and Vineet do an encore to the popular patriotic
song kar chale hum fida jaano tan saathiyo. The viewers can also
look forward to some other patriotic songs like Hai preet jahan
ki reet sada by Harshit and Rahul Vaidya; Lakshya ko pana hai
by Irfan, Karunya and Hema amongst other high volt performances.
The high points will be Ai mere watan ke logon by Alka Yagnik.
These performances will surely dampen many eyes tuning in to Rang
De India.
To
tone the mood light, there will be power packed performances by
Shaan humming Om shanti Om, Jhoom barabar jhoom by Harshit, Karunya,
Sumitra and Ujjaini and Khalbali hai khalbali by Amey and Vineet
among many others.
