MUMBAI:
From the eternal sea he rises. Creating armies on either shore.
Turning man against his brother. Until man exists no more. Directed
by John Moore, starring Liev Schreiber, Julia Stiles and Mia Farrow,
'The Omen' is a remake of the 1976 horror classic The Omen. Make
sure you catch the exclusive premiere of 'The Omen' on Friday, January
18th at 9 p.m. on Star Movies.
Robert
Thorn (Schreiber), a senior American diplomat, is about to tell
his wife, Katherine (Stiles, The Bourne Supremacy), that their newborn
child has died after a difficult delivery. However, the hospital
priest presents Thorn with another child whose mother died in childbirth
and compels him to take the infant boy as his own; Katherine will
never know the truth, and their son, which they name Damien, will
be raised as their own.
After
Thorn is named a US ambassador, Damien is linked to a series of
macabre murders and troubling events. As the number of incidents
rise, Thorn concludes that there is something seriously wrong with
his son. But it is only later that Thorn comprehends the truth:
Damien is the long-prophesized Anti-Christ. Now Thorn must make
the ultimate sacrifice to save the world from an unspeakable terror.
"It's
like hearing a great cover version of a classic rock song. They
do such a great job. The art direction is gorgeous in this in its
own haunting way." - Richard Roeper, Ebert & Roeper.
