The world’s first ‘Gaming Avatar Collection’ comes alive at the Zapak Annual Party ‘07

 

MUMBAI: Zapak Digital Entertainment Ltd. celebrated its trailblazing success in online gaming with the Zapak Annual Party ’07, showcasing the Zapak Girls Gaming Avatar Collection designed by India’s ace fashion designer, Vikram Phadnis. It is the first time, ever, for a fashion designer to come on board with a gaming company to design looks for characters, which will be used in their games. The looks have been fashioned specially for Zapak. Popular models and Bollywood actresses, Katrina Kaif and Malaika Arora Khan, scorched the stage as they walked the ramp displaying the look for their Avatar.

Twenty top notch models, including Jesse Randhava and Mridula Chandrashekhar, sashayed the ramp to showcase the exclusive ensemble. The celebrities adding on to the glamour quotient included actress and dancing diva Shveta Salve, Yash and Gauri Tonk, Actor Manav Gohil, Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan, actress Amrita Arora, Kumar Taurani, musician Leslie Lewis, prominent faces from the modeling circuit, Rajneesh Duggal and Aanchal Kumar, Ravi Behl, fashion designer Rohit Verma and Rahul Mahajan’s sister, Poonam Mahajan, among many others.

Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Sharma, COO, Zapak Digital Entertainment Ltd, said, “Since its launch, Zapak has been innovating. The Gaming Avatar collection, the first of its kind in the gaming industry, globally, put together by the renowned fashion designer, Vikram Phadnis, was revealed at the Zapak Annual Party. This is an Annual Party for Zapak, so you can look forward to something and exciting from us, year on year.”

Commenting on the occasion of Zapak’s annual party, ace fashion designer, Vikram Phadnis, said, “This Gaming Avatar Collection is the first of its kind in the history of gaming, as this is the first time that any fashion designer has put forward various looks for characters which will be rendered into games. My association with Zapak has given me the opportunity to explore my creative best to put together a collection which unveils our alternate identity. It’s my privilege and delight to watch my collection come alive on this special occasion of Zapak’s Annual Party today.”

The party people got a chance to create their own avatars, where they donned cowboy hats, swords, warrior hats, angel wings and devil horns, which was then captured on Polaroid. The host for the evening Vir Das had the audience in splits with his rendition of the games men and women play and what they say and what is it that they actually mean.

The models joined the revelers in the after-party for some cocktails and danced the night away to Dj Ryan Beck’s mixes.
