HBO gears up for the festivities

 

NEW DELHI: As the spirit of festivities sets in, HBO, the leading English movie channel brings to its viewers innumerable reasons to celebrate throughout October. This month look forward to a special Diwali buffet which offers collection of superhits in five special themes: Let’s Salsa, Kids Power, Blockbuster Mania, Fantastic Portal and The Great comedy challenge created by HBO exclusively for Diwali celebration.

HBO Blockbuster of the Month, HBO See It First, HBO Friday Blockbusters and HBO Sunday Superhits offer firecracker movies throughout the month. In addition to the blockbusters HBO also brings the premiere of another Emmy Award winning Original Series- Rome- Season II to add zing to the celebration.

HBO Blockbuster of the Month, ‘Miami Vice’ premiering on 19th September at 9pm promises to be a zestful treat to the viewers. Jamie Foxx and Colin Farrell team up as undercover cops to take on a drug lord. While Ricardo Tubbs (Foxx) is urbane and dead smart, Sonny Crockett (Farrell) is charismatic and flirtatious. HBO See It First on every Saturday night at 9pm is a colourful sparkler of movies that are premiering for the first time on Indian Television, 52 weeks in a year! Blockbusters premiering this October on HBO See It First will bring to you big movies with even bigger stars.

Watch North Country, Academy Award -nominated film directed by Niki Caro, on 6th October starring Charlize Theron and Sean Bean. Tickle your funny bone with You, Me and Dupree on 13th October starring Owen Wilson, Matt Dillon and Kate Hudson, Mindhunters on 20th October starring Christian Slater and Val Kilmer and Rumor Has It on 27th October starring Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Costner.

Don’t miss HBO Friday Blockbusters at 9:00 p.m. which brings to you movies that have set the box office on fire. Action packed Friday nights in October will include movies like Rush Hour 2 that become the 4th top grossing film of 2001, Enter the Dragon the first Kung Fu film to have been made by a Hollywood studio and universally one of the most appreciated movie- King Kong on 5th, 12th and 26th October respectively.

Tune in to HBO Sunday Super Hits, every Sunday night at 9pm as HBO brings to its viewers smashing hits like The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, Two Brothers and House of Wax.

This month HBO also premieres the season II of HBO Original Series Rome, which recently won 3 Emmy® Awards. The series is a historical drama depicting the period of history surrounding the violent transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire; a change driven by civil warfare between populists and conservatives, the decay of political institutions, and the actions of ambitious men and women. Viewers will be able to enjoy two back to back episodes every Monday after the 9pm movie.

HBO brings the best of Hollywood by premiering top blockbusters on television first in South Asia through exclusive licensing deals with four major Hollywood studios – Paramount, Sony Pictures Entertainment (Columbia/ TriStar), Universal and Warner Bros.

Prime time viewing on HBO includes HBO Blockbuster Of The Month, a special television event that premieres a mega blockbuster movie every month, HBO See It First, which premieres a new box office hit each week throughout the year; HBO Sunday Super Hits, which showcases the blockbuster hits, star-studded hits, favourite genre hits, Asian hits, highly acclaimed hits and so much more.
