MUMBAI:
As India takes on Pakistan in the finals of the first ever Twenty20
world cup in Johannesburg today, a dream come true for listeners
and employees of Radio Mirchi. There’s frenzy in the air! Listeners
are gripped with enthusiasm and gusto. Capitalizing on this cricket
craze, Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM India’s hottest radio station has
planned variety of fun-filled activities for listeners and employees
across the country.
Starting
with Mumbai, the station will take off early today and with some
lucky listeners along with the Mirchi team will get to watch and
cheer their favourite cricket team play the finals – India
Vs Pakistan on the big screen at Fame, Andheri. The lucky listeners
were selected based on an on-air contest, “What superstition
do you follow in order to make India win the match”?
In
Radio Mirchi Delhi and Bangalore and all other stations of the radio
channel (across 33 offices), there will be no work post 5 PM and
everyone will be watching the cricket finals with their colleagues
in the office. Their will be food, band baja to celebrate the sixers
and the fours and of course the spirit of happiness. Moreover, there
will be an interoffice competition where in any three Mirchi stations
which celebrate in the best way, get cricket kits for their office.
Mirchi
employees on-air will also be urging other employers to give their
employees an early off so that they too can enjoy the match. In
addition, if someone wants an early off to watch the match they
can call the station and Mirchi will request the caller's boss on
his / her behalf.
Radio
Mirchi Delhi, will give away Rs. 4000/- on every 4 and Rs. 6000/-
on every 6 that team India delivers and Rs.10, 000 /- for every
wicket that India takes, to the first person who SMSes on 8888 right
after the 6, the 4 or the wicket!
