MUMBAI:
Following all the excitement and thrills of the inaugural FedEx
Cup and the Playoffs, live returns to normal on the PGA Tour with
a brand new tournament the $6 million Turning Stone Resort
Championship, and it will be available live and exclusive only on
Ten Sports, the most watched sports channel of the sub-continent.
The
Turning Stone Resort Championship will be the first of seven tournaments
in the 2007 PGA Tour Fall Series. It will be held at Atunyote Golf
Club, which hosted the 2006 BC Open after flooding in the Binghamton
area nearly cancelled the tournament.
The
players and the PGA Tour officials were so impressed with the golf
course and the way the tournament organisers and staff hosted the
event, it has now been added as an annual stop on the Tour.
Live
telecast of the Turning Stone Resort Championship starts 1:30 am
IST for the first three rounds starting Friday, September 21, while
the final-round coverage is scheduled for 2:30am on Monday.
While
the FedEx Cup may have finished, the players will start a new battle
this week. With just seven events remaining, there are many who
will fight to retain their cards for the 2008 season, while some
will be hoping to consolidate their positions in the Money List.
Among
some of the top stars in the field at Turning Stone are Europes
number two Henrik Stenson and Daniel Chopra, the Swede who honed
his skills in India.
