MUMBAI:
Can someone finally rise to the challenge and stop Casey Stoner
and his Ducati The answer to that question, being asked by millions
of MotoGP fans across the world, will be on Ten Sports, the most
watched sports channel of the sub-continent, when it telecasts live
the thrills and spills of the Portugal Grand Prix.
Stoner
will be looking for his fourth successive victory and the ninth
of the season as he promises to deliver one of the most dominating
seasons in the history of Moto GP.
With
just five races remaining, including Portugal, second-placed Valentino
Rossi will have to win the next four to stand a chance in the final
race at Valencia of retaining his title.
Stoner
can seal the title if he wins at the famous Estoril circuit in Lisbon.
He has 271 points compared to Rossis 186, a substantial lead
of 85 points. Third-placed Danni Pedrosa is on 168 points and has
absolutely no chance to catch up with Stoner.
If
Stoner wins the championship, he will win the world title in only
his second year on the MotoGP. However, if there is one rider in
MotoGP who can surmount such mighty odds and deny Stoner, it is
the hugely-talented Rossi.
Live
telecast of the Portugal Grand Prix starts 4:15 pm IST on Sunday,
September 16.
