MUMBAI:
After receiving overwhelming response in the colleges of Hyderabad,
‘BIG Fresher’, an initiative by India’s No.1 Radio
station BIG 92.7 FM today came to an end with some entertaining
performances by the final 20 contestants here at Hari Hara Kala
Bhavan, Secundrabad. Started on August 8, ‘BIG Fresher’
was organised to hunt for the coolest and the most versatile fresher.
‘BIG
Fresher’ has been conceptualized as a means to capture the
excitement in colleges with the entry of a new batch of students.
‘BIG Fresher’ intends to create and provide a platform
to all the freshers in colleges to showcase their talent and attitude.
 After
the initial screening rounds at the colleges, 20 contestants were
selected for the Grand Finale. The selected contestants went through
three interesting rounds. The auditorium was agog with excitement
and watched the contest keenly.
To
add more fun and excitement, renowned singer Karunya enthralled
the audience with his energetic performance rendering a selection
of songs in Telugu and Hindi including some from his latest solo
album ‘Karunya’.
Thunderous
applause filled the air when the judges informed that they were
going to announce the results within a few minutes. Finally two
winners were awarded Mr. & Miss ‘BIG Fresher 2007’
title. SS Charan of Badruka College and Akriti Sharma of National
Institute of Fashion Technology were declared the winners and took
home Hero Honda bikes, Gift vouchers from Lifestyle and an opportunity
to be a guest RJ on BIG 92.7 FM, Hyderabad.
Through
‘BIG Fresher’ the winners grabbed the perfect opportunity
for fame and recognition in line with the BIG FM philosophy of “Life
Banao”.
