MUMBAI:
Kansai Nerolac, the country's second largest paint company, will
initiate the Nerolac Style Icon Awards to celebrate the work and
design of architects and interior designers across the Nation. This
is one of the kind attempt at acknowledging professional and budding
architects and interior designers in India through the competition.
The finale will be held in Mumbai at Hotel Taj Lands End on 13th
October, 2007.
Through
this event, Kansai Nerolac wants to recognize excellence amongst
Architecture students and professionals. Interested candidates can
register on www.nerolac.com and send in their entries from across
the country to Mumbai by 20th September, 2007. The way forward after
registration is:

12 of the best student artworks from three zones, namely Mumbai,
Delhi and Bangalore will be selected and 36 students will be invited
face the judges
-
Similarly, eight of the best professional designs will be chosen
from the three zones and 24 architects will be chosen to represent
their work before the judges on October 7th at Taj Lands End
- Contenders
will also have a one-on-one interaction with the judges so that
they have a thorough idea that the contestant's work is genuine
and foolproof

The winners will be declared on the Grand Finale at the Style
Icon Awards.
- Ernst
& Young will be the official Auditors for the Award process
The
two major categories at the Style Icon Awards are for
- Amateurs
or the budding architects of India with no prior experience
-
Architects with an existing body of work.
Kansai
Nerolac has tied up with associations like IIA (Indian Institute
of Architecture) and IIIA (Indian Institute of Interior Designing)
to judge the entries. The winner will be felicitated with a life
size version of the winning model that would be unraveled using
hydraulic technology. Kansai Nerolac will also sponsor Exhibitions
across the country for the winner and the Highly Recommended Entries.

on this, H. M. Bharuka stated, "Kansai Nerolac has been a major
player in the industry of Paints and the Style Icon Awards is our
way of giving back to the industry. We intend on encouraging architecture
and interior designing students and professional to participate
in this competition and give shape to the future of the Architecture
and Interior Designing industry with their talent and passion."
