MUMBAI:
In the latest development on Filmy's Bollywood Ka Boss, leading
Hindi news channel IBN 7 and the largest radio network Big 92.7
FM, have tied up as partners on the property.
Bollywood
Ka Boss, slated for release in early January next year, is a film
based quiz show, with Boman Irani as the quiz master and produced
by Siddharth Basu's Synergy Adlabs Media Ltd. The show launched
its second phase of short listing the contestants, with a nationwide
written test. The candidates who qualified the call for entries
selection on SMS, were called for a written test this week, across
16 cities in India. There were a total of nine thousand people who
were short listed for this exam, and the top two fifty scorers will
now be chosen for the final show.
The
same was covered extensively on IBN 7 and Big 92.7 FM, with the
quiz master Boman Irani doling out information on the test, show
format and what the viewers can expect from the show. With these
partnerships, Filmy will be rearing its audiences for film based
quizzing, through news, views, contests, updates, Bollywood trivia
etc. This partnership will also see a lot of original programming
done around the concept by both the media partners, focusing on
the show, the participants, the quizmaster, along with sneak-peeks
of what to expect in the coming weeks.
With
these strategic tie ups in place, Filmy is gearing up for a grand
launch of Bollywood Ka Boss, which promises to be a treat for a
film crazy nation like ours. Speaking on the programming and marketing
strategy of the channel, Shailesh Kapoor, Business Head, Filmy said,
" Bollywood Ka Boss is a show which will capture the enthusiasm
of viewers across the country. We've already got a very positive
feedback from the trade and the viewers on the concept, Boman as
quiz master, and Siddharth Basu. And now, with IBN 7 and Big FM
on board, we're sure to garner a substantial chunk of viewer mindspace
in the coming months. The show format is in the last stages of finalization
and we'll be launching it with a high decibel marketing campaign
in December."
The
enthusiasm around the concept of quizzing on films, has been apparent
with all the online and direct responses the channel has got post
the call for entries and the written test. The test seems to have
broken the myth that you don't just need to love watching Hindi
films to win the coveted title of Bollywood Ka Boss and the promised
reward of Rs 50 Lacs, but you need to be the Boss of Filmy Gyaan.
