Ten Sports to telecast French League soccer matches

MUMBAI: Ten Sports will bring a French fiesta for football fans with telecast of two matches, including those involving the top two-placed teams in the French League.

It will be a Sunday double-header with live action when AS Nancy take on France’s most popular clubs, Olympique Marseille.

Second-placed AS Nancy, who are actually tied with Lyon on 22 points and have played one game less will then take on the second-last team in the League, Sochaux.

AS Nancy have an interesting history, with French superstar Michel Platini having represented the club for six years from 1973 to 1979. They made it to the top league after becoming the League 2 champions in 2005, and after finishing ninth last year, they have announced their title aspirations with a strong showing so far this season.

Live telecast of the Nancy-Sochaux match is scheduled for 21 October starting at 9:30pm.

This will be followed by the live telecast of Marseille taking on Lens. Live telecast of the match starts Monday early morning at 12:30am.

Marseille are placed 18th in the 20-team League and will be hoping for a winning show at home against a team, which is only two positions better than them.

Apart from the French League matches, Ten Sports has some spectacular football action lined up throughout the season in the form of UEFA Champions League matches, Europe’s premier championship apart from the Dutch League and Scottish Premier League.
