MUMBAI:
She was a passionate humanist, a loving parent and an inspiration
to her generation. Ten years after the fatal car accident, STAR
WORLD pays tribute to Princess Diana with a six-hour special. Featuring
some of the world's biggest acts, the Concert For Diana will air
direct off satellite on Monday July 2nd, 2007 from 9 am with a prime
time repeat at 7 p.m. only on STAR WORLD.
Organised
by Prince William and Prince Harry as a celebration of their mother's
life, the show will be held on what would have been Diana's 46th
birthday. Held at London's Wembley Stadium, the event will see a
crowd of 90,000 devoted fans gather to commemorate Diana's legacy.
"We
wanted to have this big concert that is full of energy, full of
fun and happiness which I know she would have wanted," says
Prince William. "It's got to be the best birthday present she
has ever had."
Featuring
the world's greatest musicians, this one-time-only event promises
to be both memorable and meaningful. Stars slated to perform at
this spectacular include Elton John, Joss Stone, Bryan Ferry, Lily
Allen, Kanye West, Rod Stewart, James Morrison, Natasha Bedingfield,
Will Young, Take That, Duran Duran, Pharrell Williams, Nelly Furtado,
and P. Diddy. "We wanted to get artists that our mother really
loved, and then artists that both Harry and I enjoy," explains
William.
Proceeds
from the concert will go to charities supported by the late Princess
and to charities of which the Princes are Patrons.

after her death, STAR WORLD remembers one of the most iconic women
of our time. Join the rest of the world as the best and brightest
