Its raining entertainment at The History Channel as the channel
features new mini-series and Jumbo movie this month. The channel
brings you a powerful portrayal of the lives of American military
men stationed in peacetime Hawaii before the surprise attack on
Pearl Harbor in late 1941, with the premiere of the Jumbo Movie
- From Here to Eternity on Saturday & Sunday, June
23 and 24 at 8:00 pm.
A stirring
recreation of James Jones' best-selling military novel, the Jumbo
Movie stars Academy Award winner Kim Basinger and Academy Award
nominee Natalie Wood with William Devane, Joe Pantoliano (The Sopranos)
and Andy Griffith. The film illustrates the events leading up to
the attack on Pearl Harbor, as seen through the eyes of two soldiers
caught up in army politics and doomed romances. From Here
to Eternity is a powerful commentary on the military world
with fascinating characters and compelling subplots. Consisting
of passionate performances by an all star cast, the film is a visual
feast for the viewers.

on air is the highly acclaimed series, Yes Minister,
the recipient of a number of awards, including several BAFTAs. This
satirical British sitcom, written by Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn,
airs every Saturday between 10.30 am and 12 pm.

eagerly awaited mini-series, Jewel in the Crown - winner
of 23 major awards including a Primetime Emmy in the USA and recipient
of five awards (including Best Drama Serial) from the British Academy
of Film and Television Arts goes on air from this month onwards.
Premiered on June 13, aired every Wednesday at 9 pm, the series
is set in northern India at the time of the 1939-45 war. It is the
story of men and women whose lives were to suffer violent, even
catastrophic change.
