As a part of IBN 7 and CNN-IBN's special programming to celebrate
60 years of Indian independence comes The Voice of India - a one
hour special featuring the Nightingale of India - Lata Mangeshkar.
In this rare and personal one-hour tête-à-tête
session with CNN-IBN's Entertainment Editor - Rajeev Masand, Lata
Mageshkar speaks candidly about the evolution of the Hindi Music
Industry over the last six decades. The show will also provide a
sneak-peek into her yet-to-be-released music album -'Saadgi'. This
must-see show will air on Saturday, July 14 at 10 pm on CNN-IBN
and 11 pm on IBN 7.
Hers
has been a voice that has ruled the hearts of Indians for over half
a century. From the era of Naushad - the musical maestro in the
1940's, RD Burnman in the 1960's to A.R. Rahman in the 1990's and
2000's - Lata Mangeshkar has continued to reign the music industry
almost uncontested. Even at the age of 78 her voice is as young
and soulful as it was when she first began her career in 1942. In
Voice of India take a walk down musical memory lane with her as
she talks about the most defining moments to shape Indian music
since the past 60 years.
