MUMBAI:
Country's first and only cricket-based show, Jersey No. 10,
has wished the Indian cricket team all the best for their Australian
series that started today. Keeping with the cricket spirit, the
Jersey No. 10 stars, Cinevistaas and SAB TV officials came
together to wish Team India best of luck for the year 2008 starting
with the Australian tour. The Jersey No. 10 team unveiled
a cricket bat signed by stars and crew, which would be presented
to the Indian team upon their return from Australia. The stars urged
the Indian team to "repeat the T20 streak in Australia".
Jersey
No. 10,
a Cinevistaas production for SAB TV, is a sporting drama based on
the evident passion of cricket among Indian youth. The show, launched
on November 5 th, has drawn immense interest from the masses, especially
the youth. The evening, hosted by Cinevistaas, felicitated the show's
cast and was especially planned to coincide with the first day of
the India-Australia Gavaskar-Border test series. It was no surprise
when the show stars shouted in unison, "Repeat T20 India!"
Says
Sunil Mehta, Vice Chairman & MD, Cinevistaas Ltd, "There
is no better way to further bolster the confidence of our determined
cricket icons on their first day in Australia as they face perhaps
the most aggressive team in the world. This cricket bat carries
all our best wishes and prayers for the Indian team who are more
than capable of ousting Australia in Australia!!"
The
star and crew of the show will present the signed cricket bat to
the Indian Cricket team on their return to India, and if given a
chance, will take tips from their real-life heroes on how to better
their reel-life 'performance'.
Adds
Mehta, "Each character on the show has his own personal favourite
in the Indian team whom he idolizes and imbibes values, ethics and
a code of conduct from. You meet them and you know that even in
reel life, they are following sure footedly in the footsteps of
their real life heroes. The impossible looks very much possible
with Kumble's 5-wicket haul against Australia today."
Master
blaster Sachin Tendulkar has always worn Jersey no. 10 and has immortalized
it as the most prestigious jersey to have in the Indian squad. The
SAB TV show, Jersey No. 10, is the story of the main protagonist
Nakul who has his heart set on making it to the National Cricket
Team. Competing with him in the Cricket Academy is his own step-brother
Arjun, another all-rounder with a similar talent. The show revolves
around the rivalry between the two and is known for its real life
treatment of cricket just as the masses know it. It also realistically
depicts various facets of the struggle faced by an upcoming cricketer
in India.
