MUMBAI:
Documentary 24x7 this week revisits the bruised and battered Gujarat
through the hard-hitting documentary ‘Losing to Win’ by
NDTV’s Uma Sudhir. The documentary inspects the availability
of one of the most fundamental amenities ‘Education’ to
the Muslim community of the state and tries to find out the reasons
behind the high drop-out rates.
The
film captures how children from the community prefer to leave the
comfort of home to study in other states as the education available
to them in Gujarati or Urdu medium is inadequate to meet the demands
of professional world. Another reason that has increased the drop-out
rate is the sense of being discriminated in schools.
