CHANNEL V'S FULLER FINALLY GOES

Channel V India general manager Jules Fuller resigned last week. Speculation has been rife that Fuller would leave ever since Channel V Asia got a new managing director in Steve Smith last year. The music channel has been losing viewers to market leader MTV India and Smith wanted Fuller to move on to another position within Channel V Asia. Fuller, however, resisted Smith's offers and decided to quit. Fuller has opted to stay put in Mumbai and is setting up a consulting firm which will continue to provide services to Channel V, among other clients.

The speculation within the industry was that consultant Mahesh Murthy who was drawing up a revival strategy for Channel V along with Shashank Ghosh, a Channel V creative veteran, would take over as general manager. But Murthy says he doesn't want the job. The management is on the lookout for a new general manager, with both Murthy and Ghosh continuing to offer their services in a consulting capacity.
