DD: NO RUSH FOR DIGITAL TRANSMISSION

DD engineers say they do not expect the state-owned broadcaster to shift to digital terrestrial transmissions any time soon. Last month, DD engineer-in- chief B.K. De had voiced DD's intent to transit from the analog to digital mode of broadcasting. However, with DD headless for sometime all decisions relating to technology have been in limbo. The DD directorate general has yet to clear a proposal to begin experimental digital terrestrial transmissions, which are expected at the end of the next financial year.
