SITICABLE GIVES SIX MONTHS FOR INTERNET SERVICE

Siticable, the cable TV networking firm, owned jointly by Subhash Chandra and Star TV, says that it is gearing up to launch Internet services within the next six months. The company is in talks with several equipment suppliers and its management says its networks in 40 cities are already geared up to be able to offer subscribers access to the World Wide Web. "These networks are return path-ready and have power pass amplifiers," says senior technical manager M.D. Gaur. "We are working on getting everything in place and are looking at both cable modems and set top boxes." The company has a national ISP licence.
