Star TV executive chairman Gareth Chang has appointed Donald Cheung as his special assistant and a Star TV vice-president responsible for coordination on "new initiatives and special projects" throughout Asia Pacific, with a specific focus on China.

Toby Hayward has been promoted from vice-president of international advertising sales and client services executive to vice-president of advertising sales of Star TV.Hayward will now have the responsibility for the overall advertising sales and international sales operations for all Star TV channels in Hong Kong and its regional sales offices around the world.

Hughes Electronics, DirecTV's parent company, has named K.S. "Radha" Radhakrishnan vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Radhakrishnan, succeeds James Woods, who has announced plans to retire. Radhakrishnan will continue in his position as CIO for Hughes Space and Communications.
