KOREAN CHANNEL LOOKS FOR INDIAN PARTNER

South Korean television channel Arirang TV is looking for an Indian partner for its foray in the Indian market. The 24 hour Asian regional entertainment English language service is slated to launch on a test basis from today with a seven hour daily telecast. The channel is to have a formal launch in India, Australia and other south east Asian countries from 12 August.

Arirang TV manager (international marketing & sales) Scott Lee told a local news agency that the management is interested in tying up with any Indian television channel in order to serve the Indian market better. Its programming is either dubbed or subtitled in English.

Lee added that the channel will be targeted at the Korean community under its telecast footprint but it will also be focused on local viewers who want to know about Korean culture and its economy. Arirang TV's popular programmes are Oriental Medical Digest, Taekwondo Step by Step, Korea this Week, and Beseto Express. The channel was founded by the Korean International Broadcasting Foundation.
