ESPN-STAR SPORTS BAGS ASIAN CRICKET SATELLITE RIGHTS

ESPN-Star Sports has bagged the satellite telecast rights of the first ever cricket test championship in the world. The tournament will commence in mid-February and will end in mid-March. The organiser is the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), and the teams, which will be vying for top honours include India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

Generally, cricket generates very high viewership ratings in the subcontinent. The terrestrial telecast rights for India are in all likelihood going to be snapped up by state-owned broadcaster DD.
