BANGALORE: Procam International (Procam) announced Vijay Amritraj as the brand ambassador for Bangalore’s Sunfeast World 10K run, which is being touted as the richest 10K run in the world.

Procam is the organizer of the 10,000 meter run in Bangalore. Seventeen states from India have sent in teams to participate in the event. A number of internationally reputed athletes from many countries are also going to take part in the event to be held in Bangalore on 18 May.

“Vijay Amritraj is a brand ambassador in the true sense of the world, enjoying tremendous respect and recognition in global sporting circles,” said Procam’s managing director Anil Singh.

Besides promos showing the tennis ace, Amritraj will visit offices of the various sponsors and co-sponsors associated with the event to attract more and more employees to take part in the run. Amritraj was also the brand ambassador of the Delhi Half Marathon run organized by Procam some months ago.

The 10K run will be telecast live in 100 countries. “This is one of the biggest productions on television involving 210 people, technicians, etc.” informs Singh. The previous two events organized by Procam – the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon and the Standard Chartered Delhi Half Marathon - helped collect Rs 340 million for charity and Singh is confident that the collections will be equivalent, if not more during Bangalore event.

One of the sponsors of the event, Kingfisher Airlines (Kingfisher) has tied up with Marathon Photos to enable the Bangalore participants download their photograph from the Marathon-Photos website, post event, free of cost. According to the arrangement, Kingfisher will sponsor one photograph of each participant which will be available for download within 72 hours of the event.
