BANGALORE: Members of the Kings XI Punjab IPL cricket team - Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, James Hopes and Shaun Marsh - have rewarded ten young Bangaloreans with gift vouchers worth Rs 5000 each.

Spice Telecom (Spice), the official title sponsor of Kings XI Punjab, had organised a camp for children aged between 10 and 18 years to spot cricketing talent in Bangalore.

The camp drew around 300 applicants of which 60 were shortlisted. The final ten winners were finally picked and awarded by the cricketers.

Yuvraj Singh said, “ Kings XI Punjab, being one of the youngest teams in the IPL can very well identify with the passion and aspirations of these kids. It is a great platform which will help these budding cricketers in harnessing their talent and encourage them as well as the sport per se."

“The children have obtained quality cricket under the watchful eyes of qualified coaches, and I am sure that this would lay a solid platform for their cricketing aspirations,” added Spice CEO Navin Kaul.

While Kotak was the official gold sponsor, 9X and Coca Cola were the official partners for the championship.

Fosters and the Apeejay Surendra group were the official sponsors and Bombay Dyeing, the official formal wear sponsor.

Also, Provogue was the official apparel sponsor for the Kings Xi Punjab IPL cricket team.
