ABBY at Goafest receives 3800 entries; jury chairmen announced

MUMBAI: The Abby award at Goafest has received over 3800 entries from across India this year. Judging for the creative awards will begin on 19 March which is also the last date for entries for the media awards at Goafest.

Association of Advertising Agencies in India (AAAI) chairman Madhukar Kamath said, "We are delighted with the response from the industry with over 3800 entries for the creative awards. This year, with the entire fraternity coming together, we have some of the key players from our industry on the juries and are confident that ABBY at Goafest will benefit from their collective experience."

This year the jury chairmen for Abby are as follows:

O&M executive chairman and national creative director, Indian and South Asia Piyush Pandey - Television category
Select Direct MD Ramesh Iyengar - Direct category
Mudra national creative director Bobby Pawar - Interactive awards category
Leo Burnett national creative director K.V. Sridhar - Radio category
Alok Nanda Communications director Alok Nanda - Outdoor category
JWT national creative director Agnello Dias - Integrated advertising category
Abhinay Deo from Ramesh Deo productions - Film category
Contract chief creative officer Ravi Deshpande - Print advertising

Goafest 2008 chairman Jagdip Bakshi said, "In keeping with the tradition of Goafest, this year too the judging process will be completely fair and transparent. It will be monitored by Ernst and Young, and the whole process will be recorded on camera. In addition, there will be not more than one person from each agency on any jury, including the chairman."

The Abby at Goafest will be presented in Goa this year on 5 April.
