MUMBAI: India Media Exchange (IMX), the consolidated media buying unit of Starcom MediaVest Group and Zenith Optimedia, announced the appointment of Jaikishin Tikam Chhaproo as VP.

Chhaproo will be based out of Delhi.

IMX is a division of Publicis Groupe Media in India, created to manage the combined buying of traditional media for existing and new clients of Starcom MediaVest Group and Zenith Optimedia in India.

Prior to joining IMX, Chhaproo, who brings over 10 years of experience in media, spent four years at Hindustan Unilever Ltd as senior manager (media). During his stint at HUL, he was Asia AMET coordinator for both the media information management global and the digital team.

IMX president Shyam Shanker says, "Jaikishin as vice president in Delhi will support Mona Jain EVP in IMX. Jaikishin has the experience and a keen understanding of the craft and the market, and is equally enthusiastic to help build the tomorrow of media that we are keen to get ready for. We are sure, he will add even more strength to the team's understanding of media and bring value to client business."

Chhaproo said, "I am not just excited about being made a part of the core team in a new set-up as IMX, but am looking forward to being a part of the paradigm changes that I will be a part of by virtue of being an element in the IMX framework.

"IMX believes that scale needs to be leveraged in an atmosphere of collaboration to deliver the context-specific solutions that become a source of competitive advantage for our clients… and I agree to it principally! I am eager to be in a position to bring about this change as we move into a more context specific era."
