MUMBAI: Google has announced the widening of its bouquet of payment options for the AdWords advertising programme in India.

Advertisers can now choose from among a range of payment options to create their Google AdWords account. The new options of payment by cheque, demand draft and net banking offer advertisers more flexibility and convenience and bring a new dimension to online advertising and e-commerce in India.

The other form of payment being launched today, via net banking, is the electronic transfer of funds from a user's bank account to their AdWords account. This can be done from Google's website making it a secure and seamless experience.

"Google is committed to improving the user experience for its advertisers the world over. India is a very strategic market and feedback from Indian advertisers has been an important component in making AdWords more useful for the Indian market. We hope that more Indian advertisers will be able to grow their business through AdWords by recognising that Indian businesses prefer to conduct transactions not only by credit cards but also by cheque and electronic funds transfer. With this fuller set of options in place, more Indian businesses will be able to use AdWords to expand their reach, profitability and exposure online," says Google India MD Shailesh Rao.

These new forms of payment will help Indian advertisers, especially small and medium size enterprises, who tend not to be credit card holders. By choosing this option, businesses just have to mail their cheque or demand draft to the Citibank office in Mumbai to ensure optimal convenience in managing their advertising campaigns online.
