Microsoft India appoints Maya Hari as consumer marketing head

MUMBAI:Microsoft India today announced the appointment of Maya Hari as the head of consumer marketing (online services). Hari will be responsible for strengthening the marketing for Microsoft's online brands in India - MSN India and Windows Live Services - and will report to Microsoft India Online Service country manager Jaspreet Bindra.

Hari, who comes to Microsoft with over 7 years of experience in consumer marketing, strategic planning, product line and brand launches, began her career in strategic marketing at Schlumberger and Cisco Systems in the US. Most recently, she headed brand and B2B marketing for Google South Asia.

Commenting on the new hire, Bindra said, "We see a significant growth of Internet users and time spent by the user online today. MSN India and Windows Live will bring a lot more for consumers in the next few months and this appointment is a part of our efforts to strengthen these initiatives in India."

An MBA from INSEAD, France, Hari completed her Masters in electrical and computer engineering from Utah State University, US and her Bachelors in telecom engineering from VES Institute of Technology, Mumbai.
