MAX launches new 'deewana bana de' TVCs

MUMBAI: Sony Entertainment Television's (SET) special events and movies channel MAX launched its new television commercials (TVC) with the trademark tagline "Deewana Bana De" on 20 January 2008. Developed by TBWA, these new TVCs depict people who are so passionate about Hindi films that they literally live, breathe, talk Hindi movies.

In one of the TVCs, a young person gives directions to a location using Hindi film names. In another ad, a man touches the feet of his parents while the dialogue is in Hindi film names. A third ad shows a lady haggling with a vegetable seller in a filmy language.

MAX marketing head T Gangadhar said, "The ads exemplify our tagline 'deewana bana de,' which is an integral part of our brand identity. Our campaigns have always been successful, and this time we have tried to take it to the next level. Focusing on the shared passion that is Bollywood movies, the ads demonstrate that MAX is the glue that binds people together."

Shot by Rising Sun Productions and directed by Aniket Shirke, the films have been done in Bhopal with actors having theatre backgrounds, according to official reports.

In terms of the media plan, the channel informed that the ads would shortly be aired on radio and then into cinema halls across the country.
